Diary PageMay 2007All expectations exceeded at the Sanctuary QuizThis year's annual Sanctuary Volunteer Auction and Quiz raised an incredible $14,740 towards the day-to-day operating costs for the Sanctuary. Quizmaster Grant Walker took 33 teams through a diverse range of topics and activities over ten rounds, with much hilarity over some of the ‘inventive’ answers to the questions. Our thanks go out to everyone who attended and helped to make this a very memorable evening. We are also extremely grateful for the outstanding support we received from local businesses - over 50 donated lots sold through silent and called auctions, or were raffled during the evening. Winner in the Dominion Post Wellington Region Gold Awards 2007
We’re also in the running for a national Tourism Industry Award and have been nominated for a Ministry for Environment Green Ribbon Award. So keep your fingers crossed that we can make it a hat-trick! Mothers’ Day - Mums get in for FREE! Annual Quiz EveningSaturday 26 May, 7pm for a 7.30pm start.Ward Hall, Victoria University College of Education, Karori. Whether you’re a wise old owl or more of a bird-brain, the annual Sanctuary quiz evening is a fun way to help our volunteers raise funds for our day-to-day operations. Over the last five years a group of volunteers have raised around $34,000 running an annual quiz evening and auction. You can support their efforts by entering a quiz team of eight, or come along as an individual. We are also looking for donations of goods or services to auction or gifts of funds to cover the evening’s overhead expenses. And if you would like to help run or promote the evening at your workplace then we’d also love to hear from you. For details contact Ken Drayton on 920 9206 or email quizme@sanctuary.org.nz. |
