Make the most of your visit to Zealandia by joining our Guides for a walk or casual talk about the sanctuary and its special inhabitants – included with admission.

Talks go ahead rain or shine!

Number of participants will vary day to day. Please be aware when there is a large group it may not be as easy to hear everything the guide has to say, though we will do our best.

EXPLORE: Walk & Talks

A 45 minute guided exploration of the lower valley. Topics vary to fit the season and interests of those on the tour.

Starts from: Pontoon.
Allow 15 minutes to walk to the pontoon from the entrance.

A 30 minute casual session. Drop in and chat with our friendly Guides about our remarkable native species.

Please allow between 15-30 minutes to walk to the talk locations from the entrance.

Boat rides & Morning Star mine

Weekends and holidays

Take a leisurely scenic boat ride across the lower lake or explore the Morning Star mine in the afternoon to see cave wētā up close!
