There is enormous satisfaction to be gained from helping to restore New Zealand’s natural heritage for ourselves, our children and for generations to come.

Already the support of our members, volunteers and other supporters, has helped Karori Sanctuary Trust to:

  • Reintroduce little spotted kiwi, saddleback, hihi, tuatara, Maud Island frog and giant weta to the wild on the mainland of New Zealand for the first time

  • Re-establish wild populations, within a city, of iconic species such as kaka, brown teal, weka, robin, tomtit and whitehead

  • Become a nationally and internationally recognised centre of education and research

  • Deliver educational programmes to thousands of school children and visitors.
